    Balance Portion of Ravi Canal

    The balance portion of the Ravi Canal, which spans 1.37 Km from the reservoir to the existing canal at Basantpur, is being constructed by the ShahPur Kandi Dam Authority as per the agreement signed between the Government of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. Almost 90% of the work has been completed, and it is expected to be fully completed by June 2024.

    Project for Modernization of Ravi Canal

    A project worth ₹571.83 Crore has been framed to restore and modernize the Main Ravi Canal and its distributary network. The goal is to carry a discharge of 1150 Cusec, which will be available after the commissioning of the ShahPur Kandi Dam. The benefit-cost ratio of the project is 2.40, signifying its high potential for positive returns and long-term sustainability.
